Wesley “Hawk” Monroe doesn’t want this assignment any more than Elizabeth Carrington wants him on the job. Her father has spoken, however, and now Hawk’s only mission in life is to protect Elizabeth for escaped psychopath Jorak Zhukov and see her safely back to the family’s Virginia home. The embers of one flaming night of passion two years earlier ignite between them. Now Elizabeth must decide exactly who poses the larger threat to her well-being - Hawk Monroe or Jorak Zhukov.
Jenna Mills brings two secondary characters from a previous story to life in Crossfire. Elizabeth and Hawk’s past is hinted at in The Perfect Target and brought to glorious life in their own story. This story sizzles with sexual tension and danger, intrigue and passion. Jenna Mills has managed to squeeze a full-fledged romantic suspense into just over 200 pages. The characters spring to life, leaping off the page as they attempt to deny the attraction and confront the danger. The plot moves swiftly, flowing effortlessly between moments of high passion and heavy tension. The ending is as emotionally satisfying as it is unexpected. Jenna Mills just keeps getting better and better!
