Dahlia Montgomery has had her share of hard knocks in life. A cheating husband, bankruptcy, and prejudice of her heritage. Her best friend Piggy (Pegine) decides it's time for Dahlia to have some fun. Together they travel to Idaho to work for Piggy's cousin as US Forest Service surveyors. At the office they run into Luke.
Luke McRae, wealthy rancher and all around cowboy, hasn't exactly had an easy life either. Former husband to an alcoholic and emotionally abusive woman, Luke is burned out on "happily ever after." Custody battles and family pressures make a lasting relationship with Dahlia impossible.
Luke decides it would be best for them to take a break. Dahlia is hurt by this but has bigger problems of her own. Her father becomes ill so she returns to Texas to care for him, without telling Luke her plans or the secret she is keeping from him.
TO LOVE A COWBOY by ANNA JEFFERY delivers everything I look for in a book. Plot, secondary characters that stand out, and passion. This is a delightful tale I will remember for a long time to come. I can hardly wait for her next book.
